Here's our schedule:
- Depart Bangor, Maine June 30th
- Arrive Goose Bay, Labrador (overnight)
- Narsarsuaq, Greenland (fuel stop) and overfly The Lost Squadron
- Reykjavik, Iceland (overnight)
- Glasgow Prestwick Airport, Scotland (overnight)
- Islay, Scotland (overnight)
- Duxford, England (arriving July 4th for Press Event)
We will participate in The Flying Legends Air Show at Duxford July 12-13, as well a memorial flyby at The American War Cemetery outside of Cambridge, visit RAF Station Biggin Hill and RAF Framingham where this B-17 was based during WWII.
We will have a TV documentary crew on board for the entire trip and hopefully you will see our trip televised on The History Channel, Discovery Channel, CNN, etc. in the near future. A real highlight for all of us on board will be a passenger / crew member named Ted Hoddinott who was a B-17 pilot with the 487th Bomb Group during WWII. He will be a great addition to our crew of 10, and what stories he must have to share with us.
One of our sponsors is installing a satellite communications and tracking system onboard which will allow you to track our progress 24 hours a day. Go to www.libertyfoundation.org. We will have a King Air (corporate aircraft) chase plane along for both crossings. This will allow us to have a camera ship and will add greatly to the documentary effort.
Pray for good weather and no mechanical delays!
Best Regards,
Bob Cannon
